Morning Class: Field trip to Union Square Park, 14th Street and Broadway, to see Deitch Project's installation entitled
"Eleven Heavy Things" by Miranda July. (see links)
Then to SoHo to see various exhibitions including Sana Musasama at the June Kelly Gallery and Hannah Wilke at Ronald Feldman. (The SoHo Drawing Center's Gerhard Richter exhibition opens at 12 noon.)

Morning class meet in classroom, 9:30 sharp, or at Union Square Park 10-ish.

Afternoon class meet in classroom for discussion of Chelsea Field trip and the session with our guest speaker, David Gibson.

(Anyone in the afternoon class is welcome to come on the morning field trip if time permits.)

for talk by visiting speaker, David Gibson

David Gibson is a native-born New Yorker and art world denizen. He began his post-college career as a critic writing for Cover, NY ARTS, Zingmagazine, Flash Art, and Performing Arts Journal. He has also worked in galleries and museums in various capacities. (from Blogger.com posting) He is now a curator, writer and founder of "Article Projects." He is curatorial advisor for 532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel and recently produced the exhibition "Some Are Painting" for that gallery. He also curated "Painting with Pictures" at the Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education in the Bronx, a group exhibition addressing current diverse and innovative uses of collage.
